By bike and boat towards Danube’s kilometre 0, the ending point of Eurovelo 6 (Danube Bike Path). Enjoy cycling in one of Europe’s best-preserved natural paradise: the Danube Delta.
Danube Delta by bike and boat
Floating reed islands, inland lakes, lagoons, labyrinths of channels, marsh and a great diversity in wildlife. All to be explored in this bike and boat tour. In this amazing landscape we will cross through remote fishermen villages and we’ll bathe in the Black Sea at Sulina Beach.
The landscape alternates between gently rolling hills, swamp and prairie land and amazes one with their diversity and beauty. Life in small fishing villages is tranquil. For the most part, the solitude and silence of the almost impenetrable thicket is many times interrupted only by the calls of Dalmatian Pelicans, Cormorants and Egrets.
Under expert guidance, you will discover the fauna and flora of this landscape, which is also rich in history. Enjoy Romanian hospitality and traditional food onboard of your floating hotel and in our cosy guesthouse.
Because the delta consists of a labyrinth of waterways, we won’t be having a continuous cycle path. Therefore it is a bike and boat tour, we combine cycling with exploring the delta by the boat. In conclusion, bring your binoculars, it’s worth it for when we are not cycling!

Day 3: Journey to mile “0” (around 20 km) A bumpy gravel path awaits us today. On our right we have the wide open of the Black Sea and on the left the lush green reeds and marshland. Overnight on the floating hotel in Sulina harbour.
Day 4: Gulf of Musura – Crisan (around 20 km) We will be cycling along the birds-paradise Musura-Bay on natural streets to the picturesque village Letea. It seems as time stands still here. The houses made of reeds and clay, lovely painted in blue, and all-around a contemplative silence. Nearby the village, located on a sandbank a special natural phenomenon: a tropical forest with climbing plants and lianes. By boat we will reach the fishing village, Crisan. Overnight on the floating hotel in the wilderness.
Day 5: Fauna and Flora of the Danube Delta (day of rest) During the boat ride through a labyrinth of narrow waterways we will pass by small fishing villages.
